Why you need a web designer
There are many programs around that can create a pretty page for the web, but there is so much more to web development than pretty pictures and cool text tricks. Meta Tags
Meta tags are hidden from the browser but are included in the coding of the website. These tags control how the title on your web page appears in a browser window. Have you ever noticed that some pages simply have the url address in the browser where the title should be? That's because they are unaware of how to use their meta tags.
Meta tags also provide useful information for the search engines. If there is no description in your hidden code, then no description will be detected by spidering search engines. "Spidering" or "Crawling" are just two of the terms used to describe the way a search engine collects data from websites.
Hidden Files
There is a file that lets a search engine know if they have your permission to "spider" your site. This is a separate file altogether from your web pages. You can even block the search engines from spidering certain directories, pages or images on your site. This is especially useful if you have a private section that is only for members or employees.
